Step 1: Make sure you have the Career Planning Guide printed out
If you do not have a print out of theWebquest Career Planning Guide, Click on the link to print a hard copy to complete during your online webquest OR save the document to your own flash-drive if you want to type it
Follow the WebQuest directions and links below to complete your webquest. Use the information from your web-quest surveys to fill in your Career Planning Guide handout.
Step 2:
1. Take an interest inventory at the following sites:
Enter your email address, choose a password, then press the “Create My Profile” button.
Fill in your personal information and your interests, then click “Continue.”
Fill in your address and click “Finish”. (Or click the blue “Skip This Page” link at the top.)
Congratulations! You have completed a profile!
2. Take the 5-minute career quiz
Click the “College” tab, then the “Schools and Majors” click “Career Search”.
Click “start” to take the 5-minute career quiz. Once you answer all 24 questions, STEP TWO is complete. Turn to your activity guide to fill in the necessary information, then go straight to STEP THREE.
2nd option: California Colleges (NOTE: This is for California state colleges only.)
1. Locate the Career Quiz
Click the “Career Planning” tab, then the “Interest Profiler” link.
Read the instructions, then click the “BEGIN” button.
2. Create a Profile
click the orange “Create My Account” button on the bottom of your screen
Fill in your personal information on this page, then click “Create My Account.”
Congratulations! You have successfully created an account!
1. Enter your personal information and click “Register” then take take the College Major Quiz
Complete all 14 pages. NOTE: For courses you haven't taken, but plan to take during your senior year, indicate how well you expectto do and how much you expect to enjoy them, rather than indicating that you didn't take them at all. This will give you better results.
Once you have finished the survey, STEP TWO is complete. Turn to your activity guide to fill in the necessary information, then move on to STEP THREE.
Finished? Now click “Next” to take the “My Interest Profiler” survey. Once you have finished the survey, STEP TWO is complete. Fill in your activity guide, then go straight to STEP THREE. The Process (Steps Three and Four)

Use the College Board’s Side-by-Side Comparison resource to compare three of the colleges you have listed. Record your findings in the Career Planning Guide.
STEP SIX:
Go to the US News Personality Quiz to evaluate the type of schools that might interest you most. Record your findings in the Career Planning Guide.
Click on "More detailed profile" for information in greater depth.
STEP SEVEN:
Go to one of the listed colleges’ homepages and thoroughly explore their Web sites using the College Guide Wizard.
Evaluation Review your Career Planning Guide. Determine if there are other careers and colleges you should explore. Did you visit all the linked sites? Do you need more information that should be researched before making decisions? Are you prepared to present a presentation about the comparative merits of these colleges?
